Augustów: 24-year-old arrested for cannabis possession

In Augustów, investigators from the local criminal police have arrested a 24-year-old man who is suspected of possessing illegal drugs. The operation forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Polish police to clamp down consistently on small and medium-sized drug dealing and thereby reduce the availability of cannabis in the region.

According to the police, the young man came to the attention of investigators after information was received about possible marijuana dealing in a residential area. Officers checked the information, discreetly gathered intelligence about his environment and ultimately decided to search the suspect’s flat. The aim was to secure evidence of a possible violation of national narcotics legislation.

Search of the flat and discovery of cannabis
