A routine traffic check on the Perugia-Bettolle connector turned into one of the most striking drug seizures in Umbria in recent weeks. Officers from the Polizia di Stato stopped a car whose driver had drawn attention through erratic and inconsistent speed changes. What initially looked like an ordinary holiday-period control quickly escalated into a multi-location operation involving extensive searches, a major cocaine seizure, and the confiscation of an exceptionally large amount of cash.

According to investigators, the driver repeatedly altered speed without any clear traffic reason. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a professionally built hidden compartment beneath the front passenger seat. In that cavity they found a package containing white powder.
