Augustów: 20-year-old arrested for drug possession

In the north-eastern Polish town of Augustów, local police have managed to carry out another successful operation against illegal drug possession. At the centre of the case is a 20-year-old man who, according to investigators, was found in possession of more than seven grams of narcotic substances. The case exemplifies how consistently the authorities also pursue comparatively small quantities when there is a suspicion of a violation of narcotics legislation.

According to the current state of the investigation, the officers noticed the young man while on routine patrol. His behaviour appeared conspicuously nervous, which led the officers to decide on a stop-and-search. During this check they discovered more than seven grams of a prohibited substance.
