Since 1999 Stefan has been focused on how people find information on the web — and how machines decide that. He built his own search engine in C and Perl, scraped keyword data from German search engines, and spoke about embeddings with word2vec in 2017, long before AI became the hottest SEO topic. As a physicist he likes to think in systems; as a developer he prefers to build rather than only advise. Today he works intensively on local AI use and what information retrieval looks like in the age of LLMs.
